At Clear Solutions we are proud to have achieved an industry first. A fully carbon neutral drilling fluid additive. With the help of our partners, we now ensure that for every bag of Pure-Bore® Zero sold, 100kg of carbon will be removed from the atmosphere using a variety of sustainable forestry projects in the UK.

Over the past several decades it has become undeniable that greenhouse gas emissions from human activity is driving detrimental climate change. To ensure the viability of our planet and to preserve the environment for future generations, we must act now, and we must act decisively.

At Clear Solutions we take our responsibilities seriously and have already committed ourselves to reducing and offsetting our greenhouse gas emissions to net zero by 2025. However, as a company that prides itself in leading not following, we felt driven to do more. It is in this spirit that we have released Pure-Bore Zero, the world’s first carbon neutral drilling fluid product, proudly supplied by Clear Solutions.

Over the last year our consultants, 3Keel, have worked tirelessly to determine the greenhouse gas emissions from the manufacture of our Pure-Bore product line¹. Our original intent was to use this to inform our company wide move to net zero by 2025. However, our team at Clear Solutions have insisted we start reductions immediately. The solution: using the carbon credits administered by our friends at the Woodland Carbon Code, we will offset the greenhouse gas emissions from the production of Pure-Bore Zero, to zero. For every bag of Pure-Bore Zero our Clients purchase from Clear Solutions, we ensure 100kg of carbon will be removed from the atmosphere through a variety of UK forestry projects².

Clear Solution’s attention to carbon offsetting has not resulted in any loss of its focus on performance. Pure-Bore Zero has the same multifunctional capabilities clients have come to expect from a Pure-Bore product. Through its unique chemistry Pure-Bore Zero exhibits exceptional shear thinning rheology whilst simultaneously providing fluid loss control, shale encapsulation and filter cake lubricity. This makes Pure-Bore Zero the perfect basis for an environmentally sensitive drilling fluid without compromising on performance.
