Notably, he served as the Country Manager for Halliburton (Baroid) and as Managing Director of the Australian Mud Company (AMC), where he was instrumental in driving the companies’ operations and growth within the European market. Oliver’s extensive knowledge and hands-on experience in the drilling industry, combined with his proven leadership skills, allow him to effectively guide Clear Solutions GmbH towards continued success in providing high-quality services and solutions to the global market.

Jamie Cliffe is the Managing Director at Clear Solutions, where he has held a leadership position after a successful and varied career in the energy sector. He holds a Degree in Engineering from The Open University. Jamie began his career as a lab technician, then progressed into the role of a Drilling Fluids Engineer and later became a Technical Professional with Halliburton. During his time at Halliburton, he gained significant experience working on both onshore and offshore projects, including collaborations with BP. In 2019, Jamie joined Clear Solutions, where his technical expertise and leadership abilities quickly propelled him through several key roles, from Regional Sales Manager to Sales Director, and ultimately to Managing Director.

Principal Sales Manager for Clear Solutions GmbH

A drilling fluid expert with several years of national and international experience, in the areas of planning and implementation of drilling projects (incl. HTHP wells). Mario’s work experience includes the creation and evaluation of drilling fluid programs, the preparation and the proper disposal of drilling fluids, for both on and offshore projects.

With over 20 years of experience in one of the world’s largest drilling fluid service companies, his career has progressed through the following positions: Fluids Technician, Project Engineer, Project Manager and Country Manager, which has allowed him to acquire in-depth knowledge of the drilling fluid industry.

In addition, Mario spent two years as a consultant in the Oil and Gas industry, where he also gained extensive experience working for an operator, as a Drilling Fluids and Cement advisor in Mexico.

Technical Manager for Clear Solutions GmbH

Working closely with our Global technical and the Clear Solutions GmbH team, Menno bridges the gap between our European clients, the UK laboratory and the R&D department. He has over 24 years experience in the oil & gas industry, of which 20 years have been in the drilling fluids sector. Menno has held various positions with M-I SWACO (including an in-house position at NAM/SHELL), as well as country manager for CHEMFOR.

Technical Service Manager for Clear Solutions International Ltd.

Bob’s responsibility as Technical Service Manager, is to support customer applications of Clear Solutions products as well as designing fluids for customer requirements. Bob has over 40 years of experience in the oil and gas industry, the first 15 years spent on site as a fluid technician in Africa, the Middle East, and North Sea.

While office based, he held technical and project management positions for Schlumberger Dowell and Mi Swaco, where he managed the execution of drilling fluids and hydraulics support for ERD and HTHP wells in the North Sea, and Deep-Water wells in the Indian Ocean.

He has also spent four years working for oil and gas operators, drilling offshore and supporting wells teams onshore and has co-authored three SPE papers on the field application of drilling fluids. He holds a Geology degree from Trinity College Dublin and two Diplomas from A.T.U. Sligo in Lean, Six Sigma and Operational Excellence.

Product Manager for Clear Solutions GmbH

Bernd has over 30 years of experience in the drilling fluid industry. He started his career as a drilling fluids engineer and has gone on to specialise in Product Management and Supply Chain, with over 20 years of experience within these disciplines. He also obtained the title of Diplom-Ingenieur Chemical Engineering at the Münster University of Applied Sciences.

Shaun Wilson brings over 30 years of experience in the global drilling industry, spanning a broad range of sectors including Oil & Gas (onshore and offshore), Mining, HDD, and Civil Construction. Throughout his career, he has held senior technical and leadership roles covering field services, operations management, training, and principal technical expertise.

Shaun is highly regarded for his extensive knowledge of drilling fluids, with experience across multiple fluid systems, wellbore clean‑up operations, cementing activities, and the technical development of new products and equipment.

Over the past 19 years, Shaun has worked with IMDEX, supporting both the Oil & Gas and Mining sectors in senior technical and commercial roles. His depth of experience, strong commercial insight, and customer‑focused approach make him a trusted industry expert and a significant asset to Clear Solutions and its customers.

Sales and Technical Consultant for Clear Solutions Inc

Tom Heinz has over 40 years of experience in the drilling fluids sector, specialising in technology, product line management, and regional operations. Currently, Tom works as a Sales and Technical Consultant at Clear Solutions, where he leverages his extensive expertise to assist clients with technical challenges, develop tailored solutions, and drive business growth.

For 13 years, Tom served as the Director of New Technology and Area Manager at MI-Swaco, where he played a key role in overseeing the integration of new technologies and managing operations across multiple regions.

Following his successful tenure at MI-Swaco, Tom joined Newpark, where he spent 8 years as Regional Manager and Director of Product Line Management. Tom’s extensive experience in service, technology implementation, and management makes him a valued leader in the industry, with a proven track record of delivering results.
